Removing the intake manifold

1. Remove the carburetor assemblies and
the fuel hoses.
2. Disconnect the breather hoses 1.

NOTE:
Mark the hoses connecting position, before
disconnect.
3. Remove the intake manifold bolts in the
sequence shown.

Checking the reed valve

1. Check the reed valves for bends a.

2. Measure the reed valve stopper height

Replace the reed valves if above specifi-
cation.
a
Valve bending limit a:
0.2 mm (0.0079 in)
b. Replace the reed valve stopper if out
of specification.
b
Valve stopper height b:
6.2–6.8 mm (0.24–0.26 in)
