3. Monitor the rear of the front panel while applying power.
Power boot-up routine
LED
DS5
Heartbeat LED - A rapid beating pattern indicates
the interface PIC Controller is out of its reset state
and the there is an on-going communication of
the instrument PCIe connection.
DS6
Indicates a valid image has been loaded in the
interface FPGA.
DS20-DS22
Controlled by FW and are used as necessary. (Not
currently used)
DS23-DS27
Controlled by FW indicating that the necessary
Display sync boot-up delay has occurred.
54
— With the signal generator plugged-in there are no LEDs located on
the rear of the Front Panel that are powered on. The yellow Power
Switch standby-LED located on the front of the Front Panel should
be on.
— At power up 'red' Reset LED DS6 comes on momentarily and then
off.
— Yellow VSYNC Program delay LEDs DS24 - DS27 all come on and
remain on at the same time that DS6 had initially came on then off.
— DS20 - DS23 remain off
— When DS6 goes off the green Debug LED DS5 immediately begins
to blink at a rapid rate.

Troubleshooting Ind ication
Failure = Not beating. If the LED is not rapidly
flashing (beating) the Interface Controller is
potentially miss-configured and/or inoperative.
The A6 Front Panel Interface Scan board is
possibly faulty.
Failure = On. If the LED remains 'On' the FPGA
image has not been loaded correctly and/or the
image is corrupted. The A6 Front Panel Interface
Scan board is possibly faulty.
Failure = On. The LEDs are normally 'OFF'. Unless
future FW specifically manipulates these LED, they
remain 'Off'.
Failure = OFF. The LEDs are normally 'ON'. The A6
Front Panel Interface Scan board is possibly faulty.
