2.2.8. GPS selection
In the following case, GPS selection should be set up.
Connecting two GPS units to one port via a switcher
Connecting a dry contact signal of switcher
1) Change a recording GPS
When the selection information of GPS is connected with a dry contact signal, VDR records change information.
(This is not mandatory.)
Set the logic of the dry contacts by the maintenance software.
Ex) OPEN: Main GPS
Close: Sub GPS
2.2.9. Radar Interface Unit NWP-46
1) Summary of Radar Interface unit (NWP-46)
When VDR is connected with the Radar which has the 1600 x 1200 (UXGA ) screen resolution, VDR requires a
Radar Interface unit.
Since UXGA image data has the very high frequency, an RGB cable is inextensible to VDR.
This problem is solved by changing connection between VDR and Radar into LAN connection by the Radar
Interface unit. Therefore it is necessary to install the Radar Interface unit near the Radar.
2) Radar
At present, although NWP-42 is required only for the time of connecting Chart Radar and VDR, all Radar with
UXGA screen resolution will require it from now on.
3) Components of NWP-46
NWP-46 are composed by "FGB: Frame Grabber Board" (CKA-137) , and AC/DC power supply.
FGB is removed from RCU to NWP-46 when NWP-46 is connected to Radar, although FGB is built in RCU usually.
