Use the 
 footswitches to move between the four parameters of this page: Expression Pedal Number, MIDI
CC# and MIDI Channel and Beginning Value Setting.
A value of OFF for MIDI CC# disables the selected pedal.
The Beginning Value determines what MIDI message is automatically sent (or not sent) when any preset is loaded:

pedals.
XP1 Min000 Max127
PARAMETER
Use 
 to select between Expression Pedal (XP) Number, Min Value, and Max Value parameters.
NOTE: The minimum must be less than the maximum, and the MIN/MAX range must include the pedal's "Beginning Value" if it
is set numerically, whether Globally (12.4.16) at the Preset level (12.1.9).
NOTE: Expression pedal settings may also be set at the Preset level to override global settings. (12.1.9 on p. 46).
Expression Pedal Operation
The pedal position will be polled and a corresponding MIDI value sent automatically
whenever a preset is loaded.
No data is sent until the pedal is moved.
The value shown will be sent automatically whenever a preset is loaded.
 To prevent abrupt sound changes, a pedal with a numeric entry in Beginning Value will
send MIDI data only after its physical position crosses the Beginning Value threshold. For
example, with an initial value setting of "15", you need to move to the pedal position
corresponding to the value "15" before any MIDI data will be sent by the expression pedal.
 The setting for Beginning Value should never be outside the MIN/MAX range of the
pedal, whether set globally (12.4.17) or for the preset (12.1.8)
