The ProLiant DL580 Generation 2 server includes the Integrated Lights-Out Standard
(iLO Standard). The iLO Standard provides server health and remote server
management. The server also supports the optional iLO Advanced feature. For
additional information on iLO Advanced, refer to the documentation provided with
the option kit.
Integrated Lights-Out Standard (iLO Standard) provides server health and remote
server management. The iLO Standard features are accessed from a network client
using a standard web browser. In addition to other features, iLO Standard provides
keyboard, mouse, and video (text and graphics) capability for a server, regardless of
the state of the host operating system or host server.
The iLO Standard sub-system includes an intelligent microprocessor, secure memory,
and a dedicated network interface. This design makes iLO Standard independent of
the host server and its operating system. Remote access is provided by iLO Standard
to any authorized network clients and alert notification is supported along with other
server management functions. Using a standard Web browser, you can:
Remotely access the console of the host server, including all text mode and
graphics mode (optional) screens with full keyboard and mouse controls
Remotely power up, power down, or reboot the host server
Remotely boot the host server from a virtual floppy to perform a ROM upgrade
or to install an operating system (optional)
Access the Insight Manager 7 agents on a host server through iLO Standard
Send alerts from iLO Standard regardless of the state of the host server
