Rocking Your Vehicle

To free your vehicle when it is
stuck:
1. Turn the steering wheel left
and right to clear the area
around the front wheels.
Note:
Your vehicle has a traction
control system that will
activate when it senses that
the wheels are spinning.
See Section 1 for more
information on the traction
control system.

2. Press the Stabilitrak Button/
Traction Control Button,
located on the instrument
panel near the sound system,
to turn the Traction Control
System and the Stabilitrak Sys-
tem off.

3. Then, with the wheels straight
ahead, do the following:
Shift the transmission back
and forth between R (Reverse)
and a forward gear (first or
second gear for vehicles with
manual transmissions),
spinning the wheels as little as
possible.
Wait until the wheels stop
spinning before shifting gears.
Release the accelerator pedal
while you shift and press it
lightly when in gear.
