CAUTION
After an air bag inflates, the air
bag components may be hot.
Do not touch the air bag
components.
In many severe crashes, wind-
shields are broken by vehicle
deformation. Additional wind-
shield breakage may also occur
from the inflation of the front
passenger air bag.
The air bag only inflates once. It
must be replaced after a collision.
Let only qualified technicians work
on the air bag system.
NOTICE
Do not damage the air bag
covers.
If you damage the covers, the
air bag may not work properly.
If an air bag cover is damaged,
you may have to replace the air
bag module or both the
module and the air bag cover.
Do not open or break the air
bag coverings.
Section 2
CAUTION
For up to ten seconds after the
ignition is turned off and the
battery is disconnected, an air
bag can still inflate during
improper service.
If you are too close to an inflat-
ing air bag, it could seriously
injure you.
Avoid yellow connectors.
Be sure that you or the person
performing work is qualified
and follows proper procedures.
To avoid injury, do not modify
air bag components.
