Programmable Automatic
Door Locks
If your vehicle is equipped with an
automatic transmission, the doors
are pre-programmed to automati-
cally lock when you shift out of P
(Park). All doors automatically
unlock when you shift into P
(Park).
In a manual transmission vehicle
with this feature, the doors are
pre-programmed to automatically
lock when the vehicle's speed
reaches 24 km/h, and automatical-
ly unlock when the key is removed
from the ignition.
To customize the automatic door
lock settings, see "Driver Informa-
tion Center" earlier in this section
for information.

Rear Door Security Lock
The rear doors are equipped with
locks that help prevent passen-
gers, especially children, from
opening the rear doors from
inside.
The locks are located on the edge
of each rear door.
You must open the rear doors to
access the locks.
To activate this feature, use the
ignition key to turn the rear door
security lock toward the front of
the vehicle, and then close the
door. To open the door, unlock it
and open it from the outside.
To deactivate this feature, use the
ignition key to turn the rear door
security lock to the vertical posi-
tion.
