5. With the pressure cap off, start
the engine and let it run until
you can feel that the upper
radiator hose is getting hot
(watch out for the engine
cooling fan).
By this time, the coolant level
inside the filler neck may be
lower.
6. Add more of the right mixture
through the filler neck until
the level reaches the base of
the filler neck.
7. Reinstall the pressure cap.
The radiator cap is a pressure-
type cap and must be tightly
installed to prevent coolant
loss and possible engine dam-
age from overheating.
Be sure the cap is hand tight-
ened and fully seated.

■ ENGINE FAN NOISE

Your vehicle is equipped with a
clutched engine cooling fan.
Under most driving conditions,
the fan clutch is not fully engaged.
This improves fuel economy and
reduces noise.
Under heavy vehicle loading,
trailer towing or high outside
temperatures, the fan speed
increases when the clutch
engages.
An increase in fan noise is normal.
The noise will go away when the
fan slows down and the clutch
disengages.
