3. The jacking tools are stored
under the rear seat.
Secure the jack and tool bag
with the wing nut retainer.
Make sure the wing nut passes
through the tool bag and the
jack before tightening it.
4. Turn the wing nut clockwise
to secure the equipment.

Secondary Latch System

The secondary latch is designed to
stop the spare tire from suddenly
falling off the vehicle.
In order for the secondary latch to
work, the tire must be stowed with
the valve stem pointing down.
CAUTION
Before beginning the proce-
dure, read all the instructions.
Failure to read and follow the
instructions could damage the
hoist assembly and you or
others could get hurt.
Section 5
Perform the following procedure
to release the secondary latch:
1. Check under the vehicle to see
if the cable is visible.
If the cable is not visible,
proceed to step 3.
