7.1.7 REMOVING THE FUEL TANK CAP

Carefully read 1.4.1 (FUEL) and 4.1 (FUEL TANK).
Place the vehicle on the center stand.
Unscrew and remove the three screws (1).
Tightening torque for screws (1): 3.6 ftlb (5 Nm).
NOTE
You may leave the other three screws mounted,
since they are purely decorative.
Open the cap (2).
WARNING
When removing the screw (3), be careful not to drop
it into the tank.
Unscrew and remove the screw (3).
Tightening torque for screws (3): 3.6 ftlb (5 Nm).
Remove the plug (2) complete with ring-nut (4).
WARNING
Plug the tank opening to prevent any foreign matter
from accidentally entering.
