2.41.1 CLEANING AND LUBRICATION

Never use steam, high-pressure water jets and/or highly
flammable solvents to wash the chain.
Wash the chain with diesel fuel or kerosene.
If the chain tends to rust quickly, perform maintenance
operations more often.
WARNING
Never use trichloroethylene, gasoline, or similar
fluids: they may be too powerful as solvents for this
chain and, more importantly, they may damage the O-
rings that retain grease in the gaps between rollers
and pins.
