Are the scanning components of the machine clean?
If the receved document s spotted or drty, clean the scannng components.
(See "Scannng Area," on p. 2-4.)
Sending of documents is too slow.
Is the resolution set to <FINE>, <PHOTO>, <SUPER FINE>, or <ULTRA
FINE>?
Settng the resoluton to <STANDARD> reduces the sendng tme.
Is Error Correction Mode (ECM) set to <ON>?
Because ECM corrects errors durng a transmsson, any problems on the lne can
mean that the transmsson wll take extra tme. Set <ECM TX> to <OFF>. (See
"TX/RX SETTINGS," on p. 12-11.)
Cannot send using Error Correction Mode (ECM).
Does the recipient's machine support ECM?
If the recpent's machne does not support ECM, the document s sent n normal
mode wthout error checkng.
Errors occur frequently while sending.
Are the telephone lines in poor condition, or do you have a bad
connection?
Check f there s a devce nearby that nterferes wth sgnal transmsson (e.g.,
mcrowave oven).
Lower the transmsson speed. (See "SYSTEM SETTINGS, " on p. 12-36.)
Cannot redial with [Recall].
Is <REST. REDIAL/CALL> set to <ON>?
When <REST. REDIAL/CALL> or <RESTRICT REDIAL> s set to <ON>, Redalng s
not avalable. (See "Restrctng Job Recall (LASER CLASS 830 Only)," on p. 9-28.)
