Can the sender's machine send the CNG signal, which tells your machine
that the incoming call is a fax call?
Some machnes cannot send ths sgnal. In such cases, receve the fax manually.
Cannot receive a document manually.
Is the machine set to receive manually?
For the machne to receve faxes manually, the receve mode must be set to
<Manual>. (See "Basc Recevng Method," on p. 5-2.)
If you set <MANUAL/AUTO> to <ON>, the machne wll receve faxes
automatcally even when the receve mode s set to <Manual>. (See "TX/RX
SETTINGS," on p. 12-11.)
Did you hang up the external telephone before pressing [Start] or dialing
the remote reception ID?
Always press [Start] or dal the remote recepton ID before hangng up.
Otherwse you wll dsconnect the call.
Are documents set on the ADF?
After removng the document from the ADF, please attempt manual recevng
agan. If you press [Start] when documents are set on the ADF, t automatcally
swtches to manual sendng.
Print quality is poor.
Is the toner low or unevenly distributed?
Redstrbute the toner nsde the toner cartrdge. If the problem perssts, replace
the toner cartrdge. (See "Replacng the Toner Cartrdge," on p. 10-11.)
Is the correct type of paper loaded in the machine?
Make sure you load paper that meets the requrements for use. (See "Paper
Requrements," on p. 2-7.)
Is the sender's machine functioning properly?
Ask the sender to check that the scannng components of the machne are
clean.
