Setup 2: Creating NDPS Manager

(1) Choose Create in the Object menu.
(2) The Class of New Object window appears.
(3) Choose NPDS Manager and click [OK].
(4) The Create NDPS Manager Object screen appears.
(5) Enter the names of NDPS Manager, Resident Server and Database Volume, and click [Create].
(6) The NDPS Manager is created.

Setup 3: Installing the printer driver

(1) Double-click the Broker icon.
(2) Click [Resource Management (RMS)].
(3) Click [Add Resources...].
(4) Select the applicable OS : Windows 95/98 or Windows NT. Click [Add...].
(5) Click on [Browse].
(6) Browse the .inf file to install or enter the file name, and click [OK].
(7) Choose a printer to be installed in Resources, and click [OK].
(8) The printer appears in Current Resources.

Setup 4: Creating NDPS Printer

(1) Choose Create in the Object menu.
(2) The Class of New Object window appears.
(3) Choose NDPS Printer and click [OK].
(4) Enter the name in NDPS Printer and click [Create].
(5) Enter the names of in Printer Agent (PA) Name field. Enter the NDPS Manager name or click the browse button to locate
it. Choose "Novell Printer Gateway" in the Gateway Types and click [OK].
(6) Click [OK] to load the NDPS Manager to the server.
• It takes maximum 60 minutes to complete initializing the NDPS Manager.
(7) Choose "((NONE))" in Printer Type and "Novell Port Handler" in Port Handler Type, and click [OK].

Setup 4.1: In case of LPR in TCP/IP

(1) Check Remote (LPR on IP) in Connection Type, click [Next].
(2) Enter the IP address assigned this machine in the Host Address. Type in "PORT_PASSTHROUGH" in the Printer Name,
and click [Finish].
• It takes about 60 seconds to load the Printer Agent.
(3) Choose the printer driver to be installed in Printer Drivers, and click [Continue].
(4) Information message about installed driver appears.
• It takes about 60 seconds to complete the creation of the NDPS Printer Object in NDS mode.
(5) NDPS Printer Object is created.
5.2.7

Setup 4.2: In case of Queue based

(1) Check Forward Jobs to a Queue in Connection Type, click [Next].
(2) Enter the NDS queue in Queue Name, and enter the queue user name or click the browse button to locate it.
(3) Choose the printer driver to be installed in Printer Drivers, and click on [Continue].
(4) Information message about installed driver appears.
• It takes about 60 seconds to complete the creation of the NDPS Printer Object in NDS mode.
(5) NDPS Printer Object is created.
