Replacing the heat sink

Ê Open the server as described on
page 24
for the rack model.
Ê Remove the air duct (see on
Ê Remove the system fan (see on
Ê Remove the heat sink holder (see on
Ê Loosen the four screws of the heat sink in a crossover pattern (see on
page
80).
Ê Loosen the heat sink by turning it back and forth and then lift it out.
Ê Clean the upper side of the processor using a lint-free cloth.
Ê Remove the protective cover from the new heat sink (see
Ê Place the heat sink on the processor socket (see
Ê Fasten the heat sink by tightening the four screws in a crossover pattern.
Ê Reinstall the system fan (see
Ê Reinstall the heat sink holder (see on
