There are three (3) output modes of the finisher; the face-up, face-down and
the staple mode. In the face-up mode, the paper is fed through the finisher
and directly onto the shift tray (image up). In both the face-down mode and
the staple mode, the paper is first fed downward into the finisher and then
upward to the shift tray (image down).
In the face-up mode, when the entrance sensor (not shown) is activated, the
paper will be transported directly onto the shift tray at its maximum speed of
180 mm/second.
In the face-up and staple modes, when the entrance sensor (not shown) is
activated, the junction gate solenoid [A] will remain de-energized keeping the
junction gate open. The paper will be transported downward into the finisher
to the jogger unit.
