3. Print Overrun indication
This means that the data sent to the printer was too complex.
The printer is preparing image data and sending it to the engine at the same time. If the
print job is too complex the printer will not complete the image for the engine and this will
produce a Print Overrun indication.
(Case1: HDD Access Time)
If the data processing time is too long because of the limits of the HDD access time, it will
cause an Access Time error. This problem with the HDD can be solved by updating the
firmware to ver.1.21 and adding SIMM memory (more than 4MB). The printer will allocate
4MB for the Image Buffer (e) if the HDD is installed with firmware ver.1.21 or higher. After
all of thepages for one job are stored on the hard disk, the printer will move image data
from the hard disk to the image buffer until the image buffer is full and then tells
the engine to go. Paper sizes smaller than A4 or LT should not cause this problem.
(Case2: HDD Reading Error)
The vibration from the Duplex unit may cause it to indicate a Reading Error problem.
To correct this condition, the bracket on HDD has been modified with 4 rubber cushions.
When the HDD is installed on the controller, use the new brackets to prevent the HDD
from vibrating.
ROJ will provide new brackets for all HDDs, which were shipped with old style brackets.
(Case3: HDD sector control failure)
The sector information is controlled by the firmware. This information is
rarely affected by firmware bugs or Hang Up's.
This problem has been solved by using firmware ver.1.26.
If the finisher and the HDD are installed on the printer, use the following items
* Firmware ver 1.26
* Driver ver. 1.30
* New bracket on HDD
