MIDDLE GEAR SERVICE

ASSEMBLY

Reverse the "DISASSEMBLY" procedures.
Note the following points.
Middle driven shaft
1.Apply:
Lithium base grease
To the oil seal and O-ring.
2.Install:
Shift lever shaft 1
Shift lever 2
Stopper shaft 3
Circlip 4
3.Install:
Spring 1 (to shift fork 4)
Ball 2
NOTE:
When installing the shift fork 4 onto the
shift fork guide bar, place a dowel pin 3
(used for a crank case cover) to hold the ball
and spring in place.
4.Lubricate:
Apply the molybdenum disulfide oil to
shift fork inner diameter and to the pin.
Molybdenum disulfide oil
5.Install:
Shift fork guide bar 1 (with O-ring)
Shift fork 4 2
NOTE:
Remove the dowel pin from the shift fork
4.
Make sure that the shift fork performs
smoothly.
