2. Enter the description for the serial interface in the Description field.
3. Enter the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size in the MTU field. This should
be between 64 and 1500.
4. Select the IP address option from the IP Address drop down list: Static/
Negotiate IP Address with the Peer
If Static option is selected, enter the IP address and the Mask in the IP
Address and Mask fields. This IP address will be advertised during IPCP but
not allow its negotiation. Click Remove to delete the IP address and re-enter
the new IP address.
If Negotiate IP Address with the Peer is selected, a flag is set to accept the
IP address given to it by the peer during IPCP.
5. Select the Serve Peer with IP Address option: Enable/Disable
If Enable option is selected, enter the IP address in the IP Address field. The
entered IP address will be assigned to the peer on IPCP negotiation. If
"Negotiate IP Address with the Peer" is selected on the peer, then the IP
address assigning will be successful.
Disable option disables Serve Peer with IP Address. This will set the flag to
accept the peer's IP address during IPCP.
