In order to achieve Hierarchical classification and link sharing, user can configure
the hierarchical policy. Hierarchical policy is configured by attaching a policy map
(child policy) on to a traffic class of the parent
Note:
Four levels of hierarchy of the policy is supported.
You cannot add a service policy to the traffic classes whose parent policy has Fair
Queue enabled Class Default class. To add service policy to the traffic class, disable
fair queue on the Default Class.
Step 1: From the tree structure, click '+' sign for a policy map.
Step 2: The traffic classes configured for the selected policy map is displayed in
the tree structure. Select the traffic class to which a service policy is to be added.
Step 3: Right mouse click and select Add Service Policy. Add Service Policy
window is displayed.

Step 4: The policy map and the class map to which the service policy is being
added is displayed in the Policy Name and Class Map fields.
Step 5: Service Policy list displays the list of policy maps configured in the
system. Select the required policy map from the Service Policy list.
Step 6: Click Apply. This sets the selected service policy (policy map) as a child
policy.
