Focusing
manually
You can gain hetter results by manually
adjusting
the tbcus in the tbllowing
cases:
•The autofbcus
mode is not ef_bctive when shooting
subjects
through
glass coated with water
droplets
horizontal
stripes
subjects
with little contrast
with backgrounds
such as walls and sky
• When you want
to change the fbcus from a subject in the foreground
to a subject in the
background
• Shooting
a stationary
suloject when using a tripod
(1) Press FOCUS lightly in the CAMERA/inemory
camera inode. The _
indicator appears.
(2) Turn the focus ring to sharpen focus.

To return
to the autofocus
mode
Press FOCUS lightly to turn off _'_, _ or _ indicator.
To record
distant
subjects
When you press FOCUS down to INFINITY. The lens focuses on and AIindicator
appears. When you release FOCUS, yore camcorder returns to the manual focus mode.
Use this mode when yore camcorder focuses on near objects even though you are
trying to shoot a distant object.
To focus precisely
It is easier to focus on the subject if you adjust the zoom to shoot at the "W" (wide
angle) after fbcusing at the "T" (telephoto) position.
When you shoot
close to the subject
Focus at the end of the "W" (wide angle) position.

when recording
a distant
subject.
when the subject is too close to focus on.
