Flash Memory Configuration Process
To configure your switch to boot from flash memory, follow these steps:
Copy a system image to flash memory using TFTP or rcp (refer to the Cisco IOS Configuration

Copy the system image to flash memory using TFTP.
Copy the system image to flash memory using rcp.
Boot the system from flash memory either automatically or manually.

Flash memory cards contain a write-protect switch that you can use to protect data. You must set the
switch to unprotected to write data to the Flash PC card.
The system image stored in flash memory can be changed only from privileged EXEC level on the
console terminal.
