The NT cannot be operating as an active DHCP Server.
1. From Windows Program Manager under File, select Run ntBOOTP.exe.
2. Pull down the Admin menu to Configure option.
3. Enter the IP address that you want to assign to the EcoLAN 1000E, its Subnet
Mask (make sure it matches what you are using on your subnet), Default Gateway
(your router's IP address), and the MAC address of the EcoLAN 1000E (Hard-
ware Address, listed on the Status sheet as Network Address). Use colons as
delimiters as shown on the status sheet rather than the dashes Windows uses.
4. Click on Go.
5. Wait about five minutes. The EcoLAN 1000E should recycle and produce a status
sheet showing the IP parameters you have just entered.
6. Pull down Admin menu to Verify. You should get a message back stating that the
Unit is Active. If you do not get this message, check that TCP/IP is enabled on the
status sheet
7. When you get a response that your unit is active, you should be able to ping and
Telnet to the EcoLAN 1000E.

7.1.3.4Setting up IP and lpr Parameters

The EcoLAN 1000E provides for a setup connection via the standard Telnet port. To
be able to make changes to a unit at factory default settings, you must logon as
sysadm. The default password is also "sysadm" (this password can be changed from
the Telnet utility). The use of the Telnet utility is described elsewhere.
1. Telnet to the EcoLAN 1000E (the login and password are both "sysadm").
2. Turn off the protocols that you are not utilizing (option 3).
3. Setup the subnet mask and default gateway for the EcoLAN 1000E if applicable
(option 1).
4. Exit, Save, and Reset the EcoLAN 1000E.
You can also use the HTML pages accessible via MAP or a Web Browser to set up lpr.
The password to change parameters with the HTML pages is the same as the Telnet
password.
