bytes from the first byte of the tape record to the first byte of the first logical

RECORD STRUCTURE

Specifies the general record structure of the input data.
RECORD STRUCTURE = structure-type
Definition
Type of structure of the record. May be any of the following:
• FB (fixed length blocked)
• F (fixed length)
• V (variable length)
• VB (variable length blocked)
• U (undefined length)
• UB (undefined length blocked)

RECORD command: Points to note

Note the following when using the RECORD command:
• LTHFLD, OFFSET, FORMAT, and PREAMBLE parameters
The values for these parameters may be overridden if
STRUCTURE is changed as the result of ANSI or IBM OS/
Standard label processing.
