Processor

The PowerMate P60 system uses a 64-bit, 60-MHz Pentium microprocessor. The processor
has 16 KB of write-back internal cache, 8 KB for instructions and 8 KB for data. Integrated
into the processor is a math coprocessor.
To use the Pentium processor's power, the system features an optimized 64-bit memory
interface and complementary 256-KB burst-mode secondary cache.
The special synchronous cache design uses 15-ns static random access memory (SRAM)
that allows data to be sent or received from cache at the fastest possible bursts rate
supported by the Pentium processor.
The Pentium processor is compatible with all 8-, 16-, and 32-bit software written for the
Intel386™, Intel486™, and Pentium processors.
The processor is installed in a 273-pin, zero-insertion-force (ZIF) processor socket. This
socket allows the installation of the next generation of Intel OverDrive processors based on
the Pentium core (PGA type package).
