Specifying the Output Destination for MIDI Data

Here you can make settings for using the USB MIDI driver with applications such as
the "Media Player" that is included with Windows.
Windows 98 users
1.
Click the Windows [Start] button, select
[Settings] from the menu that appears,
and select [Control Panel].
2.
In the Control Panel, double-click the
[Multimedia] icon.
3.
In Multimedia Properties, click the [MIDI]
tab.
In the "MIDI Output" field select [Roland XV-5050].
4.
Click [OK].
5.
Start up Windows Media Player or Media
Player, select a MIDI file, and play back.
Windows Me users
1.
Click the Windows [Start] button, select
[Settings] from the menu that appears,
and select [Control Panel].
2.
In the Control Panel, double-click the
[Sounds and Multimedia] icon.
3.
In Sounds and Multimedia Properties, click
the [Audio] tab.
In the "MIDI Music Playback" field, select [Roland
XV-5050].
4.
Click [OK].
5.
Start up Windows Media Player or Media
Player, select a MIDI file, and play back.
Installing & Setup the Driver
If you are using the XV-
5050 with a sequencer, do
not disconnect the MIDI
cable connected to the XV-
5050 while a song is
playing back.
Windows Media Player is
located in Start menu ->
Programs-Accessories-
Entertainment-Windows
Media Player.
Depending on your
settings, "Sounds and
Multimedia" may not
appear in the "Control
Panel." In this case, click
"View all Control Panel
options."
Windows Media Player is
located in Start menu ->
Programs-Accessories-
Entertainment-Windows
Media Player.
