The HDR OTDR's Auto PON OTDR and Manual PON OTDR tests
have the same settings and results as its Auto OTDR and Manual
OTDR tests, with an additional feature: The PON OTDR tests can
identify splitters. The Auto PON OTDR test identifies splitters
automatically. The Manual PON OTDR test lets you use the
SPLITTER SETUP screen in the Manual PON OTDR Settings to
specify the split ratios for known splitters on a link. Or, you can
use the DISCOVER function to locate splitters and identify their
ratios.
If you use the Manual PON OTDR test with no
splitters specified, and the link has splitters, the
tester identifies the splitters as large loss events.
Table 9 gives descriptions of the settings for OTDR tests.
To set up a project, which includes the settings in Table 9, cable
IDs, and operator names, see Chapter 13.
To set up an OTDR test
On the home screen, tap the test setup panel.

On the CHANGE TEST screen, select an OTDR test to change,

then tap EDIT.
Or to set up a new OTDR test, tap NEW TEST then tap a Test
Type.
