Routing card cables on a Multiservice Switch 7480

Route processor card cables through the cable management assembly on top
of the Nortel Multiservice Switch 7480 to keep them organized.

Action
Open the cable management assembly door.
Route the cables from the faceplate of each processor card through the
cable management assembly above the shelf assembly. The smaller
channels in the cable guides are for fiber optic cables. See the figure

Label all processor card cables near the connector to indicate the if it is a
receive or transmit cable.
Secure cables to the sides of the cabinet to ensure that proper airflow
around the shelves. Always ensure that you do not pinch cables, especially
fiber cables.
Close the cable management assembly door to hold the cables in place.
