Action
Determine which of the two spared 2pSTM1Ch cards is in "hotStandby".

Determine which ports on the "hotStandby" 2pSTM1Ch are protected.

The
lineAutomaticProtectionSwitch
shows the
instance if the port is protected, or nothing if the port
Laps
is not protected
.
Lock the protected ports on the "hotStandby" 2pSTM1Ch.
lock Lp/<n> Sdh/<port>
Plug the cable with one end in the "providingService" 2pSTM1Ch and the
other end in the "hotdStandby" 2pSTM1Ch.
Upon a successful insertion of the XC cable the "Facility Defect" Alarm
clears and the XC status LED on the "providingService" card turns green.
Optionally, check that there are no reported failures under the Xc
component.

Unlock the protected ports on the "hotStandby" 2pSTM1Ch.
d unlock Lp/<n> Sdh/<port>
Check that the sparing capabilities have returned to normal.
