Shutting down the system to add or replace hardware

Shut down the Contivity 600 and unplug it to install or replace an option card or to
replace the DIMM.
To shut down the Contivity 600:

Use the Web GUI or the command line interface to shut down the gateway.

Wait for the system to shut down. You may need to wait several minutes.

Remove all interface cables from the rear of the chassis.

Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet and then disconnect the cord
from the Contivity 600.

Opening the Contivity 600

To install an interface card or to replace the DIMM, you must remove the
Contivity 600 chassis from its steel enclosure.
To access the chassis:

Shut down the Contivity 600 and then unplug it as described in

Web GUI: Choose Admin > Shutdown. Select the option to power off the
gateway after shutdown.
