Intermediate cards
The difference between a two-HLC configuration and a more than two HLC
configuration is the introduction of intermediate cards. An intermediate card is a
card that is neither at the MMI end, nor at the SDI end. For example, in the
three-HLC configuration illustrated on page 29, the middle HLC is the
intermediate card. Its Multi-I/O cable is not on either end of the daisy chain and
is not directly connected to the MMI or to the SDI.
All intermediate cards (cards not on the ends) must have SW1, both positions 7
and 8 set to ON.
