Creating a Dial-Up Networking connection on Windows 2000 or Windows XP

Click the Start button and then click Programs.

Click Accessories and then click Communications.

Click Network and Dial-Up Connections.
The Network and Dial-Up Connections dialog box appears.

Double click the Make new Connection icon.
The Network Connection Wizard appears.

Click the Next button.

Select the Dial-up to private network option.

Click the Next button.

In the Phone number box, enter a telephone number.
It does not matter what telephone number you enter in this box because the number is not used
for the connection to the CallPilot system.

Click the Next button.
10 Ensure the For All users option is selected.
11 Click the Next button.
12 Enter a name for this connection.
13 Click the Finish button.
Configuring the Dial-Up Networking TCP/IP parameters on Windows 2000 or

Windows XP

The new connection you just created should now be displayed. If it is not displayed, right click
on the Dial-Up Networking connection you created for CallPilot and then click Properties.

Click the Configure button.

Clear the following options:
Enable hardware flow control
Enable modem error control
Enable modem compression
Show Terminal window

Make sure the Enable modem speaker option is selected so that you can hear the modem
negotiation.

Click the OK button.

Click the Security tab.

Select the Advanced (custom settings) option.

Click the Settings button.

Ensure that Data encryption is set to Optional encryption (connect even if no encryption).
10 Select the Allow these protocols option.
