Modem Access
If your computer has a modem with one telephone cable connector, you need to use a telephone
line splitter. To connect the line splitter:

Disconnect the telephone line for the modem from the wall outlet.

Insert the line splitter into the wall outlet.

Connect the telephone line for the modem to one of the connectors on the line splitter.

Connect the telephone line for the telephone to the other connector on the line splitter.

Creating a Dial-Up Networking connection

You require a Dial-Up Networking connection to access the CallPilot modem. This connection
must be configured for Operator assisted or manual dialing.
Note: If Dial-Up Networking is not installed on your computer, you must install it before
you can proceed. Refer to the documentation that came with your Windows operating
system for instruction on how to install Dial-Up Networking.

Creating a Dial-Up Networking connection on Windows 95 or Windows 98

Click the Start button and then click Programs.

Click Accessories and then click Communications.

Click Dial-Up Networking.
The Dial-Up Networking window appears.

Double click the Make New Connection icon.

In the Type a name for the computer you are dialing box, enter a name for the CallPilot
connection.

From the Select a modem drop list, click the modem you are going to use for this connection.

Click the Configure button.

Click the Options tab.

Select the Operator assisted or manual dialing option and then click the OK button.
10 Click the Next button.
11 Enter the telephone number and area code of the CallPilot system.
12 Click the Finish button.
Configuring the Dial-Up Networking TCP/IP parameters on Windows 95 or

Windows 98

Right click the Dial-Up Networking connection you created for the CallPilot system and then
click Properties.

Click the Server Type tab.
