Local site

• Take inventory of the MCR equipment by comparing the received equipment against the
shipping documents. Refer to
page 55 for MCR component part numbers and descriptions.
• Configure the NT5D64 (NT5D68 for cabinet systems) LMI DIP switches to set the
appropriate card address and other parameters. For help, refer to:

• Install the LMI into two adjacent line card slots.
• Connect the NT5D85 LMI Multi I/O cable to the 50-pin Amphenol connector for the first
of the two line card slots occupied by the LMI.
• Connect Plug 1 of the NT5D86 LMI/LMX cable assembly to the 50-pin Amphenol
connector for the second of the two line card slots occupied by the LMI.
• Install the local MMI terminal, and mini-carrier link cables to the LMI Multi I/O cable
assembly.
• Configure the NT5D65 (NT5D69) LMX DIP switches to set the appropriate card address.
For help, refer to
• Install the LMX(s) into two consecutive line card slots in the same IPE shelf (or cabinet)
as the LMI.
• Connect Plug 2 of the NT5D86 LMI/LMX cable assembly to the 50-pin Amphenol
connector for the second of the two line card slots occupied by LMX 1. (The 50-pin
Amphenol connector for the first of the two line card slots is not used.)
• Connect Plug 3 of the NT5D86 LMI/LMX cable assembly to the 50-pin Amphenol
connector for the second of the two line card slots occupied by LMX 2. (The 50-pin
Amphenol connector for the first of the two line card slots is not used.)
• Connect Plug 4 of the NT5D86 LMI/LMX cable assembly to the 50-pin Amphenol
connector for the second of the two line card slots occupied by LMX 3. (The 50-pin
Amphenol connector for the first of the two line card slots is not used.)
