Front seats

Removing and installing seat
Valid for vehicles with side airbag
Warning!
When manipulating a seat fitted with a side airbag
unit observe the safety instructions ⇒ page 69-8.
- Disconnect negative terminal of the battery
K - Unplug connector for seat heater -arrows A-
(on vehicles with electrically heated seats)
and disconnect side airbag -arrow B- on un-
derside of seat (if necessary disconnect plug
connection for seat belt buckle signaling).
Valid for all vehicles
- Push seat fully forward.
- Pull out caps -1-
K - Take out screws -2- and pull out cover strips
-3- facing upwards.
- Push seat fully backward.
K - Unscrew screws or nuts -1-.
- Release catch rod and push seat fully back-
ward out of the runners.

Installing seat

The installation is carried out in the reverse order
- Tighten screws or nuts -1- with a tightening
torque of 23 Nm.
Valid for vehicles with side airbag
- Switch the ignition on before connecting the
battery.
Warning!
Nobody should be in the vehicle when the battery
is being connected.
