Releasing gas from gas strut

K - Clamp the gas strut in a vice in the area x =
50 mm.
Important!
The gas strut must be clamped in the vice only in
this area otherwise risk of accident!
- Cut open cylinder of the gas strut with a saw
in the first third of the entire length of the
cylinder - starting from the reference edge
at the piston rod end.
Notes:
♦ Wear eye protection when cutting open the
gas strut.
♦ Cover over the area of the saw cut with a
cleaning rag.
♦ Dispose of oil and cleaning rags in
accordance with the usual disposal re-
gulation.
