Front Doors/Door Components/Central Locking
Removing and installing outer door
handle
Special tools, testers and aids required:
♦ Square wrench or TORX 20
♦ Assembly tool T10118
Removing
K - Remove trims -1-.
- Unscrew locking screw -3-.
- Pull outer door handle -4- up to the stop in
direction of actuation -arrow A- and hold in
this position.
- Turn screw -5- in the direction indicated
-arrow B- until resistance is perceptible.
Note:
Screw -5- must not be turned as long as the
outer door handle is removed.
- Turn lock cylinder -2- with inserted key
-arrow C- and pull out -arrow D-
Note:
On vehicles fitted with radio control, the front
passenger door lock is replaced by a trim panel.
K - Unclip control cable -1- from door handle -2-.
- Slide door handle -2- to the rear -arrow A-
and swivel out of the door -arrow B-
Installing:
- Swivel door handle into the door.
For vehicles 05.98 ®
K - Hang device T10118 in the spring fixed to
the door lock -arrow A- and hang the spring
in the lock lever -arrow B-.
For all vehicles
Further installation is carried out in the reverse
order.
Note:
The control cable must lock securely into the
outer door handle.
