OCTAVIA Self-Diagnosis Self-Diagnosis Properties of the self-diagnosis The control unit for the diesel direct injection sys- tem is equipped with a fault memory. The fault memory is designed as a permanent memory and as a volatile memory. If malfunctions occur in the monitored sensors or components, they are stored in the fault me- mory with indication of the fault type.
