Commissioning the function module

Activating the function module in SINUMERIK

For SINUMERIK, the function module cannot be activated from STARTER. However, the

drive commission functionality of SINUMERIK Operate provides support. The APC function

module can be selected for activation in the menu "Commissioning > Drive system > Drives

Setting the transmission ratio

It is not sufficient to just activate the function module if APC is being used in conjunction with

a direct measuring system. Further, a mechanical transmission ratio must be set between

the direct measuring system and the motor measuring system.

If the position controller function module is activated (not for SINUMERIK!), then this setting

can be made in STARTER from the screen form "Technology > Position control >

If this is not the case, then the setting must be made using the Expert list. This is only

possible if the drive has not been enabled (r0002 > 0). The following steps are required:

1. p0010 = 25: position control commissioning

2. For all drives: Setting the gear ratio

– p2504 = gearbox motor revolutions (SINUMERIK: MD 31060)

– p2505 = gearbox load revolutions (SINUMERIK: MD 31050)

3. Only for linear axes:

– p2503 = 1.000.000 (indicates that the internal resolution 1 LU = 1 µm)

– p2506 = leadscrew pitch in µm (SINUMERIK: MD 31030 * 1000)

4. p0010 = 0

5. Backup drive

If, for the direct measuring system, the measuring direction must be inverted, then the speed

and the position inversion must be activated together (p410[1].1 = p410[1].0 = 1), so that

p410[1] = 3H.

If the measuring direction for the direct measuring system matches the measuring direction

of the motor measuring system, then p410[1] must be parameterized = 0H.

For SINAMICS standalone, this involves an axis license (see Chapter "Licensing

(Page 939)").
