Safety Integrated Basic Functions
10.2 General information
Monitoring cycle
The safety-relevant drive functions are executed cyclically in the monitoring cycle.
The safety monitoring cycle lasts a minimum of 4 ms. Increasing the current controller cycle
(p0115) also increases the safety monitoring cycle.
Data cross-check
A cyclic cross-check of the safety-related data in the two monitoring channels is carried out.
If any data is inconsistent, a stop response is triggered with any Safety function.

Supported functions

The Safety Integrated Functions (SI functions) are made up of "Basic Functions", "Extended
Functions", and "Advanced Functions".
Safety Integrated Basic Functions
The following functions are part of the standard scope of the drive and can be used without
any additional license:
● Safe Torque Off (STO)
STO is a safety function that prevents the drive from restarting unexpectedly, in
accordance with EN 60204-1:2006 Section 5.4.
● Safe Stop 1 (SS1, time controlled)
Safe Stop 1 is based on the "Safe Torque Off" function. This means that a Category 1
stop in accordance with EN 60204-1:2006 can be implemented.
● Safe Brake Control (SBC)
The SBC function permits the safe control of a holding brake. Special requirements:

SBC is only supported by Power/Motor Modules with article number ...3 or higher. A Safe
Brake Adapter is also needed for this design.
