Configuring the PoE port

Configure the PoE port on the Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 to detect and manage the
power distribution.
Procedure steps
1. Locate a slot containing a PoE card.
2. Select a PoE port.

Configuration — Power over Ethernet
Field
The nominal power of the Power Source Equipment (PSE)
measured in watts.
The operational status of the main PSE.
The measured usage power expressed in watts.
Enables or disables the main power administration.
Sets the power priority for the PoE card. Options are low,
high, and critical.
Is either p802dot3af or p802dot3afAndLegacy.
The usage threshold is expressed in percent. It compares
the measured power and initiates an alarm if the threshold
is exceeded.
Enable or disable notification control.
Indicates the presence of a backup PSE.
Identifies the activation status of the backup PSE. A value
of true means the backup PSE is activated. A value of false
means no backup PSE is activated.
