  • Page 22: Power Supply Chassis

AC power supply fundamentals Power supply chassis The Ethernet Routing Switch 8306 and 8310 chassis have three bays for power supplies. Use the AC power supply for AC input power. You can install either the 8301AC or 8302AC power supply in the 8306 or 8310 chassis. The Ethernet Routing Switch 8306 and 8310 chassis ship with no installed power supplies.
  • Page 23: 8302Ac Power Supply

To obtain full output power (1770 W), connect the 8301AC power supply to a 200–240 V AC nominal input voltage source. When you configure an Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 system, you must consider total power consumption to ensure proper system performance. The total input power consumption of the components (modules and fan trays) must not exceed the output power rating of the 8301AC power supply.
  • Page 24: Power Supply Considerations

Figure 2: 8302AC power supply Power supply considerations • Avaya recommends you install each power supply on its own dedicated branch circuit. When you plug the power cord for each power supply into a separate AC circuit, the redundant power supply provides protection against the disconnection, failure of an individual branch circuit, or power supply failure.
