You can directly plug the data cable from PoE-enabled access points (APs) in to the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300. The Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 can provide 200 watts (in default setting) of PoE power on the 8348TX or 8348GTX modules and support up to 48 PoE ports on the 8348TX-PWR or 8348GTX-PWR modules.

Figure 1: PoE power manager interactions PoE power supply management Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 PoE power allocation is based on the number of installed Ethernet Routing Switch 8301 or 8302AC power supplies. For example, each Ethernet Routing Switch 8301AC power supply provides 800 watts PoE power at 220 VAC, or 400 watts PoE Configuration —...

Set the power limit to the PoE port for power consumption. Important: The Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 software automatically adds one additional watt to the power limit to cover possible additional power loss between the PD and the PSE. Therefore, the run-time port power consumption is higher than the configured power limit (the run-time port power consumption should always be less than the configured power limit + 1 W).
