PoE power management

The Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 PoE complies with the IEEE 802.3af D3.3 standard and
supports the following:
• AC power disconnection
• capacitor and resistor detection of PDs
• Management Information Base (MIB)
• configuration and management
AC power disconnection
The PSE monitors the link segment and removes power from a port when a PD is disconnected
or no longer requests power. The PSE uses AC power disconnection to remove power from a
PD.
AC power disconnection specifies that the PSE removes power to a port or PD by monitoring
and detecting whether the AC impedance between the PSE and PD is higher than the specified
amount.
The PSE removes power from the link segment within a specified time interval after the end
of the last valid Maintain Power Signature (MPS).
