Chapter 9: PoE configuration example

This chapter provides examples of PoE configuration tasks, including the Avaya Command Line Interface

(ACLI) commands you use to create the configuration example.

For a complete description of ACLI commands to configure specific PoE tasks, see

using the ACLI

on page 49.

The configuration example shown in the figure

page 66 shows how to perform the following tasks from the Global configuration and Interface

configuration modes:

• Assign Fast Ethernet port 7/1 to 7/10 for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) PDs and set

the priority for power allocation to critical.

• Assign Fast Ethernet ports 7/15 to 7/20 for webcam PDs and set the priority for power

allocation to high.

• Assign Fast Ethernet ports 8/1 to 8/18 for wireless access points (APs) and set the priority

for power allocation to low.

• Limit the PoE power for all WebCam ports to 5 watts.

• Set the main power usage threshold on slot 7 to 70 percent.
