Chapter 6: PoE configuration using the CLI

This chapter describes how to configure Power over Ethernet (PoE) in the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300
by using the command line interface (CLI).
Important:
When you install and run Power over Ethernet modules, the 8310 or 8306 chassis cannot contain
various power supply types: all power supplies on the chassis must be of the same type (either Ethernet
Routing Switch 8301 or 8302 AC power supplies). Otherwise, all PoE 8348TX-PWR or 8348GTX-PWR
modules lose PoE power when the chassis detects the mixed power supplies.
If 8348TX-PWR or 8348GTX-PWR modules are installed into an 86xx chassis, PoE is disabled and cannot
be enabled.
