Chapter 8: PoE configuration example

This chapter provides examples of PoE configuration tasks, including the command line interface (CLI)

commands you use to create the configuration example.

For a complete description of CLI commands used to configure specific PoE tasks, see

using the CLI

on page 39.

The configuration example in this chapter shows how to perform the following tasks:

• Assign Fast Ethernet port 7/1-7/10 for VoIP PDs and set the priority for power allocation

to critical.

• Assign Fast Ethernet ports 7/15-7/20 for WebCam PDs and set the priority for power

allocation to high.

• Assign Fast Ethernet ports 8/1-8/18 for wireless access points (APs) and set the priority

for power allocation to low.

• Limit the PoE power for all WebCam ports to 5 watts.

• Set the main power usage threshold on slot 7 to 70 percent.

• Set the module power allocation from 200 watts to 300 watts.
