You can set the power allocation priority for Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8300
slots and ports. The power allocation priority choices are low, high, or critical.
In this configuration example, supplying power to VoIP PDs and webcam PDs on
slot 7 is more critical than supplying power to the Wireless PD on slot 7. Therefore,
slot 7 power allocation priority is set to critical and slot 8 power allocation priority is
set to high. By default, the priority setting for all slots is set to low.
The following commands assign a priority for slot power allocation:
ERS-8310:5(config)#
poe priority slot 7 critical
ERS-8310:5(config)#
poe priority slot 8 high
You can set the main power usage threshold from 0 to 99 percent. Any consumption
above this threshold generates a warning message to the console and log file. The
default threshold is 80 percent .
To receive a warning message when the overall power consumption of all ports on
slot 7, including the VoIP and WebCam PDs, exceed 70 percent, use the following
command:
ERS-8310:5(config)#
poe usage-threshold slot 7 70
