Simple Tear

Demand Printing
There are a few general parameters to determine before using the
VIEW/EJECT print options:
•
For pedestal models, you must determine if the printer has a
quick access cover where paper is ejected from the top, or a
regular cover where paper is ejected from the rear.
•
The tear position needs to be set. The default of 5.12 inches is
adequate for the quick access cover. For the standard cover,
9.92 inches should be selected. These measurements are
general guidelines and can be adjusted as necessary.
•
The proper form height must be set. This will allow the printer to
know where the end of a page is.
•
The top of form setting needs to be entered.
The Simple Tear Mode requires special form layout and application
design. It allows demand printing without losing any forms. To
activate Simple Tear mode, see page page -188.
When the VIEW/EJECT key is pressed for more than 1/2 second in
offline mode, the printer slews the bottom of the last printed form to
the tear position.
